Family Planning
The practice nurse and nurse practitioners provide a comprehensive family planning service including contraceptive pills, injections and advice; we now fit implants. This procedure is undertaken by Dr Shah and Mrs. L. Goel. If you need this service, a preliminary telephone consultation will be arranged.
We do not fit or remove coils. This can be done at one of the local family planning clinics - details of which are given below.
If you require emergency contraception you can make an urgent appointment with the nurse or doctor. If you explain to the receptionist that the appointment is urgent they will do their best to fit you in.
For women needing emergency contraception (the morning after pill), this is available FREE directly from the local pharmacy:
- Regal Pharmacy
- Silverfields
without a doctor appointment if you are aged 26 or less.
If you are older than 26, then the morning after pill can be obtained free from the chemist on days that the surgery is closed eg weekends.
