Postnatal Care
Please let the surgery know immediately when you arrive home with your new baby so that care by the doctor, midwife and health visitor team can be arranged without delay.
Could you also please send the child's registration form to the surgery as soon as possible after the birth has been registered. At six weeks after delivery a full postnatal check including contraception advice will also be offered at the surgery to all mothers. Your child will also receive their BCG on this visit.
We aim to provide you with all the information you will need both during pregnancy and after the birth of your baby. Please ask at reception for a copy of our leaflet which tells you the roles of the GP, Community Midwife, Health Visitor and hospital clinics in the provision of antenatal and postnatal care.
